I have been renting a home and signed a new lease extending through to 12/31/2010. About 1 month after re-resigning, I received a letter from the rental agency that the house was being put up for sale, short sale/foreclosure. I immediately started searching for a new rental home as I have 3 children and surely did not want to be stuck in a situation where I was forced out and no place to go. Fortunately, I found a home that suits my families needs. I called the rental agency as soon as it was confirmed that I had found another residence and would be vacating the property. They claim I cannot do this and that I am obligated to fulfill the lease through 12/31/2010. Is this correct? They have given me notice that the house was going on the market, am I supposed to sit and wait until it's sold or foreclosed and be on the streets?

Please help.....
