Two years ago I bought a condo in a condo conversion
So the developer is hiding in another country. The hoa says that there is 3.5 million in catastrophic damamges to be fixed. Basically all the exterior walls of the condo buildings need to be repolaced. SO we have the best attorney in the state working with our board but really the lawyers are telling us each homeowner has to pay a 45K assesment. We bought the condo as is...

Damn if we do Damned if we don't
Don't pay it and fix issue the problem gets worse. Approve the assesment half the complex is ready to walk.

What would you do? Yes, I am getting a lawyer. But I have people tell me it happening all over the country so if it is what are other people doing? I have a great job and hardly any debt so do I have to now just sit and fluch money down the drain becaue either way I up the creek While other just walk away ??
